How WithinSight works

Last updated: September 21, 2026

WithinSight puts two very different ways of reading a person side by side and shows you where they agree and where they don’t. This page explains both, plainly, including their limits.

System one: the behavioral assessment

You answer 15 situational questions (12 for relationships, 16 for teams). Each answer adds points to one or more of five dimensions — Growth, Expression, Grounding, Discernment and Depth — that describe how you tend to direct attention and energy. Questions are drawn from a larger bank and balanced across dimensions, so two sessions will not ask identical questions. This part is a self-report: it reflects how you currently see yourself.

System two: the birth-pattern reading

The second system comes from the Chinese Four Pillars tradition, a framework several centuries old that maps a person’s date and time of birth onto a structure of five elements and their relationships. We compute that structure with a calendar engine that corrects for true solar time using the longitude of your birthplace, then translate it into the same five dimensions as the assessment. This part does not know your answers — it is derived from birth data alone.

We present this system as a structured lens with a long history of use, not as a scientifically validated instrument. Its value in WithinSight is comparative: it offers an independent reading to hold up against your self-report.

How the two are compared

Each dimension gets a 0–100 score from both systems. Where the scores land within about 20 points of each other and on the same side of the midpoint, we mark the dimension Confirmed. Where they are far apart, we mark it Divergent. Everything in between is Partial. The report text is generated to match those markings — a reading with one confirmed dimension will say so, not claim the systems agree.

Agreement between two systems is a reason to look closer, not proof. Two methods can be wrong in the same direction, and a self-report can be shaped by mood or circumstance. Treat divergence as equally informative: it often marks a place where learned behavior differs from underlying temperament.

Who writes the reports

The paragraphs you read are written by an AI language model from your scores, structural data and the agreement markings above, under instructions that forbid jargon, require every risk to be paired with a concrete action, and require the wording to stay consistent with the numbers. The same input always produces the same report.

What is free and what costs money

  • Personal: the psychology result and, during early access, the full birth-pattern reading are free.
  • Relationship: the compatibility score and the first two dimensions are free. The remaining four dimensions are a paid unlock, generated only after purchase.
  • Organizations: team reports are priced per member, with a Basic (6 dimensions) and Complete (10 dimensions plus individual profiles) plan.

Prices are shown before you commit to any paid step. Payment features are being finalized; where a button shows a price but payment is not yet available, that content is not yet purchasable.

What the readings cannot do

They cannot diagnose, predict events, or tell you what to decide. They are prompts for reflection. If a reading lands wrong, that is useful information too — write to us and tell us where.
